A serene alpine village nestled in Val Canale at the foot of the Julian Alps. Known for authentic agriturismo farmsteads (Rifugio Gortani, Agriturismo Juar), traditional woodcarvings, and delicious Friulian alpine food (frico, polenta, and cured ham). The perfect place to recharge after the border climb over Achomitzer Alm.

Starting and finishing back at your basecamp in Ugovizza, Day 2 tackles the dramatic crests of Monte Nebria and Testa di Malborghetto. Refuel at mountain huts (*malge*) with fresh cheese and espresso, returning to Ugovizza for a second restful night.

Excellent place to restock supplies before entering remote Val Aupa.
